From Burnout to Balance: Finding Agency in Uncertain Times Through Repivot

nature photo; personal reinvention; repivot to reimagine yourself; personal development journey; building resilience and agency.

On the surface, I had it all together. Inside, I felt disconnected.

What I thought was just post-pandemic fatigue lingered long after life resumed. Offices reopened. Classrooms filled again. But I still felt foggy, off-balance—like something wasn’t quite right.

The routines that once grounded me now felt like friction.

The Signs Were There—But I Ignored Them

Like many professionals, I pushed through in survival mode, dismissing my exhaustion as Zoom fatigue. Eventually, my body made me pay attention:

  • Hives across my face and neck
  • Memory lapses I laughed off with friends
  • Weight gain that seemed to appear overnight
  • Wine becoming more of a crutch than a comfort

I was constantly on edge. Unfocused. And tired in a way that rest alone couldn’t fix.

The Quiet Turning Point

There was no dramatic moment—just small, consistent shifts:

🌿 Better nutrition
🛌 Prioritizing sleep
🧘🏽‍♀️ Daily meditation to reconnect with myself beneath the noise

Gradually, the fog lifted.

Rediscovering Purpose

Volunteering with ClimArts reignited my love for bringing people together through learning and technology. Later, Amy Porterfield’s Digital Course Academy gave me the structure to transform my experience into something valuable for others.

For the first time in years, I felt creative again. Energized. Capable.

Navigating Uncertainty Together

We’re living through profoundly unsettling times in higher education. Budget cuts, political headwinds, and economic forecasts leave many of us questioning our professional futures. That uncertainty can be paralyzing.

Yet I’ve found that creating systems to reclaim our sense of agency—even amid circumstances beyond our control—can be transformative. This is exactly what prompted me to create Repivot.
